Cody, Wyoming, Buffalo Bill Cody's home town in the Rocky Mountains, is located fifty miles east of Yellowstone National Park, the nation's oldest and largest National Park and home of the world-famous Old Faithful Geyser and Yellowstone Lake, the largest mountain lake in North America.

The Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody houses the Buffalo Bill Museum, Whitney Gallery of Western Art, Plains Indian Museum, McCracken Research Library, and the Draper Museum of Natural History.

Cody is the Rodeo Capital of the World. The world-famous Cody Nite Rodeo has performances every night June through August, and the Cody Stampede, with performances on July 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, was voted the Best Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year for 1998 and 1999 by the PRCA.

The Cody area offers some of the best big game hunting and trout fishing in North America. Hunters can set their sites on elk, deer, moose, bear, and antelope. Fishermen can cast their lures, baits, or flies into lakes, rivers, and streams that are loaded with native cutthroat, rainbow, brown, mackinaw, and brook trout, all within a few miles of Cody. For the outdoorsman, there's great camping, hiking, backpacking, and mountain climbing to be enjoyed.
